An 88th minute winner by Frederick Gyan, won all three points for Fairpoint FC in the opening game of the Tema Metro Football Association (TMFA) Third Division Middle League.
Fairpoint FC, beat Niki SC 1-0 on Sunday at the Tema Sports Stadium in the second game of the day.
The win, takes Fairpoint FC level on three points with Tema Faith FC who beat Chase SC 2-0 in the first game of the day.
This was a closely fought affair with very little to separate the two sides, but a momentary loss of concentration on the part of Niki SC, cost them the game.
Gyan, run unto a well taken free kick to poke the ball home for the only goal of the game to win his side the three points.
Fairpoint FC, will next play Chase SC on Wednesday, and they will look to build on the result they achieved today as they bid to secure qualification to the Greater Accra Second Division League next season.
The other game on Wednesday, will be between Niki SC and Tema Faith FC in what should be an explosive encounter.
The overall winner of this promotional tournament, will qualify for the third tier league in the Greater Accra region next season.
