President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has gifted Medeama SC GH¢1m for their troubles in winning the betPawa Premier League last season.
President Akufo-Addo made the presentation on Wednesday during a visit the club paid him at the Jubilee House.
Medeama SC had gone to the seat of government to present the President the league trophy they won last season.
And in recognition of their success, the President made this presentation, tasking the club to strive for more laurels.
The amount is expected to cushion Medeama SC for the coming season which will include representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League competition.
The Ghana champions will play Remo Stars FC of Nigeria in a first round first leg qualifier on Sunday, August 20 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
A spokesperson for the club told the President that they will look to make the most of this opportunity to bring glory to Ghana next season.
