Ghana’s fastest man Benjamin Azamati has withdrawn from the 2023 World Athletics Championships after suffering an injury.
Azamati, has suffered a severe groin injury in his build up for the competition, and will be out for sometime.
The sprinter, has already qualified for the competition in Budapest later this month, and was looking forward to finishing high.
His absence, will especially be a big blow to Ghana’s chances of winning a medal in the 100x4m meet as they are the current African champions.
Azamati, has been in good form in the lead up to this championship, but this represents a setback to his ambitions as he looks to improve.
The 2023 World Athletics Championships will be held in Budapest from August 18 to 27.
