Ghana’s Asante Kotoko SC has mutually terminated the contracts of four players, the club has announced.
The Porcupines, took to their media channels in announcing that defenders Mohammed Alhassan and Charles Owusu have left the club after agreeing to end their stay in Kumasi.
Also leaving the Garden City club are forwards Samuel Boateng and Dickson Afoakwa for similar reasons ahead of the start of the new season.
Alhassan, joined Kotoko from their arch rivals on the Ghanaian scene Accra Hearts of Oak in the second half of last season.
It is believed Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum wanted him to stay, but the player asked to be left out of the squad being prepared for the next campaign to try his luck elsewhere.
The other three players, have had very minimal impact at Kotoko since they joined a couple of season’s ago, and they will have to look elsewhere to continue with their careers.
Asante Kotoko are in the second week of their pre-season program as they seek to get in shape for the start of the new campaign next month.
