Ghana’s women’s high jump record holder Rose Yeboah has joined Fighting Illinois Track and Field & Cross Country club after pitching camp in the United States.
Yeboah, has been awarded a scholarship at the University of Illinois after moving on from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
She will train under three-time US Track & Field national coach of the year Petros Kyprianou as she aims to take her career to new heights.
Yeboah, recently won gold for Ghana at the World University Games in Chengdu, China, dominating the field ahead of some quality opposition.
Her sensational 1.94m achievement, is the first by any Ghanaian male or female athlete at that level.
Sadly, she will miss the World Athletics Championships that begins on Saturday in Budapest, Hungary after being refused a visa.
Rose Yeboah will hope to improve on her standards as she eyes the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
