Accra Hearts of Oak have landed in Tamale ahead of Friday’s season opener in the betPawa Premier League against RTU.
The game will be played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium with kick-off time set for 6:00 PM local time.
The Phobians, landed in the Northern regional capital on Tuesday after departing Accra early in the morning for this fixture.
Hearts of Oak are in high spirits going into this game, with the Phobians having enjoyed a smooth pre-season campaign in the build up to the second opener.
Coach Martin Koopman and his charges, scored 35 goals in the nine friendlies they played, and they will look to continue with this form in Friday’s game under the lights in Tamale.
RTU, were very quiet in their pre-season preparations, but they cannot be taken for granted in this fixture as they are difficult to beat in front of their home fans.
They lie in wait for the capital club, looking to begin their campaign on a high with a win to set the stage for what they will hope will be a good campaign.
The stage is therefore set for a mouthwatering encounter between two clubs with separate ambitions as the 2023/24 football season kicks off this weekend.
