Second half goals by Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed and Jordan Ayew, handed Ghana a comfortable 3-1 win over Liberia in Accra on Tuesday.
The Black Stars, were impressive as the soggy nature of the Accra Sports Stadium field, made made things difficult for both sides.
This was Ghana’s first game since the Black Stars qualified for next year’s AFCON tournament in Cote D’Ivoire with their 2-1 win over the Central African Republic in Kumasi last Thursday.
Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring for the Black Stars in the 52nd minute, with Kudus and Ayew scoring respectively in the 59th and 82nd minutes to put Ghana in a comfortable lead.
Roosevelt Teah, scored a consolation for the Liberians in injury time, but it was too little too late for the visitors as they were condemned to their third defeat in their last five international fixtures.
Coach Chris Hughton, will hope Ghana builds on this performance going into the next FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November as the Black Stars aims to qualify for the tournament to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States of America in 2026.
