Frustrations are growing within the ranks of Asante Kotoko, as they continue to grapple with the challenges of the E-ticketing system for purchasing tickets to watch their home games. The digital platform has been a source of considerable concern for both the club and its fans.
In an effort to address these challenges, the National Sports Authority (NSA) convened a meeting on Monday, October 23, 2023, involving all stakeholders. The aim was to find a solution to the ongoing issues with the E-ticketing system.
During the meeting, Asante Kotoko made their stance clear. The club expressed their intention to print physical tickets and sell them to their fans in preparation for the upcoming clash against Bechem United. They argued that the E-ticketing system had led to a loss of funds since the start of the season, and they believed it was imperative to explore alternative options by offering printed tickets to their supporters.
However, the NSA had a different viewpoint. They stressed that the usage of digital platforms for ticket sales was a national policy, especially for national stadiums like the Baba Yara Stadium.
Despite the discussions held during and after the meeting, Asante Kotoko remained steadfast in their decision to print and sell match tickets for the Bechem United game. This decision has added an intriguing twist to the ongoing debate about the role of technology in ticketing for sporting events. The club’s determination to prioritize their fans’ convenience and financial interests is evident, even in the face of established policies.
