Yussif Basigi, the Head Coach of the Black Princesses, has taken a significant step in the team’s preparations for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. He has called up 30 players to resume camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
This squad will dedicate themselves to rigorous training and development as they gear up to face Eswatini in the third round of qualifying matches for the prestigious tournament.
Notably, the team will be without the services of five key players from Ampem Darkoa – Mary Amponsah, Comfort Yeboah, Deborah Brown, Tracy Twum, and Abena Anomah Opoku – as they are currently engaged in the CAF Women’s Champions League, further underscoring the club’s success.
However, there’s a notable addition to the squad in the form of Martha Persis Oteng, a Ghanaian-born player who plies her trade with Tottenham Hotspur Women. This marks her first call-up to the national team, adding a new dimension to the squad.
The team is slated to resume their training camp on Wednesday, October 25th, at 5:00 pm at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence. This gathering signifies the beginning of a rigorous journey to secure a spot in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, and the Black Princesses, under the guidance of Yussif Basigi, are poised to put their best foot forward in this endeavor.
