The Ghana Police Service has made headway in the investigation of the assault on Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu by announcing the arrest of one suspect, identified as Seidu Musah, alias Gaswan. This arrest follows the attack that occurred on Sunday, November 19, during the Bofoakwa Tano FC versus Nsoatreman FC match in week eleven of the Ghana Premier League at the Coronation Park in Sunyani.
In an official statement, the Police confirmed the apprehension of Seidu Musah, currently in their custody, aiding in the ongoing investigation. Efforts persist to apprehend the other suspect involved in the assault, ensuring justice prevails.
The unfortunate incident saw Coach Konadu reportedly subjected to merciless beating by the two suspects after the game, prompting urgent medical attention. Fortunately, reports indicate that he is presently in a stable condition recovering from the ordeal.
In response to the distressing event, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken action, temporarily banning Bofoakwa Tano FC from utilizing the Coronation Park in Sunyani for their home matches due to the attack. Bofoakwa Tano FC had recently gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League after a victory over Techiman Eleven Wonders in a playoff fixture.
