FC Samartex 1996 tops the stairs in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after 14 games as they chase their first silverware in the top flight of Ghana football.
The Timber Giants, holds a 100 percent home record in the competition so far after Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Heart of Lions at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi.
FC Samartex lead the standing with 26 points after posting their seventh successive home win yesterday, two points ahead of second placed Aduana FC.
Going into the next round of fixtures, on Christmas Eve, FC Samartex will be away to Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani where they will look to continue with their good showing.
They will then return home to play Karela United at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi where they have built a fortress so far.
FC Samartex will then be away to Accra Lions in their last game of the first round of the campaign before heading into the second half of the season.
The Timber Giants, will hope to be still leading the table going into the second round of the campaign, and they seek to make history by clinching the diadem at the end of the campaign.
