One of Ghana’s most enterprising young coaches Philip Boakye has been appointed new head coach of the national Futsal team.
Coach Boakye, is on the books of Kaysports Limited, a Ghanaian full service sports agency that focuses on sports development as a development coach.
His appointment has been confirmed by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association, and he has been tasked to put together a strong national team.
Coach Boakye’s immediate task is to prepare Team Ghana for the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cote D’Ivoire next month.
Ghana will seek to qualify to the event to be hosted by Morocco in April which will serve as Africa’s qualifier to the World Cup in Uzbekistan in April.
Ghana will host Cote D’Ivoire in the first leg of the qualifier on the weekend of February 2-4 with the second leg encounter set for February 9-11 in Abidjan.
Coach Boakye who has worked in Malaysia, Nigeria and Cyprus, is the head coach of Ghana Futsal Premier League club AMG, and has seven years experience in futsal and mini football.
