Former Black Stars and Medeama Sporting Club mercurial midfielder Rashid Nortey is set to make a return from a long-term injury as he starts personal recovery training.
Rashid Nortey joined Asante Kotoko Sporting Club before the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League 2022/23 season but is yet to impress due to injuries.
Nortey sustained injury before the end of the 2022/23 season and was left out of camp during the team’s preseason training ahead of the 2023/24 season in Beposo. The former Black Stars midfielder joined Asante Kotoko Sporting Club ahead of the season round of the 2022/23 season after an impressive six years with Medeama Sporting Club.
As it stands, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is on the verge of losing their playmaker Richmond Lamptey who is left with just three months in his contract for the Porcupine Warriors as the team is yet to reach the player’s demands for contract extension.
However, Rashid Nortey who was nursing an injury before the start of the season has recovered from the injury and has started gym works. Nortey started well in his first five, he was a joy to watch and scored a goal in those matches which was against Accra Lions Football Club in a game Asante Kotoko Sporting Club won by 4-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi in the then Betpawa Premier League.
Per the information reaching TotalSportsGhana.com, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club with consider recalling Rashid Nortey back to the team after not been registered for the 2023/24 season. Rashid Nortey has a running contract with Asante Kotoko Sporting Club with ends in June 2025.
