Asante Kotoko has decided to part ways with left-back John Tedeku after a two-year stint with the club. Tedeku joined Asante Kotoko in 2022 from West African Football Academy (WAFA) as part of a strategic move to bolster the team’s defensive lineup.
His arrival was seen as a replacement for the departing Imoro Ibrahim, and during his time with the Porcupines, Tedeku contributed to the team’s efforts in the Ghana Premier League.
John Tedeku’s departure is part of Asante Kotoko’s broader plan to overhaul their squad in preparation for the upcoming season.
This strategy involves both releasing current players and recruiting new talents to ensure the team remains competitive. Tedeku’s exit is one of several changes expected as the club aims to rebuild and improve their squad dynamics.
During his tenure at Asante Kotoko, Tedeku was noted for his defensive capabilities and occasionally contributed offensively.
Despite his contributions, the club has decided to move in a new direction, reflecting the dynamic nature of football squad management where changes are often necessary to adapt to new challenges and objectives.
