A total of nine athletes will represent Ghana at the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. They will feature in track and field and swimming as Ghana seeks to win a gold medal at the event for the first time.
The athletes are Abdul R. Saminu men 100m/200m, Benjamin Azamati men 100m/4x100m, Joseph Paul Amoah men 4x100m and Isaac Botsio men 4x100m.
The rest are Fuseini Ibrahim men 4x100m, Edwin Gadayi men 4x100m and Rose Yeboah women High Jump all in athletics.
The Swimmers are Joselle Alice Mensah women 50m Freestyle and Harry Stacy men 100m Freestyle.
The nine athletes will be accompanied by 11 officials including coaches, medics, federation heads and a press attache to make up Team Ghana.
President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah will also be at the Games.
Team Ghana will train in Strasbourg for two weeks before moving to Paris, the Games Village on July 21.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games is schedules for July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Ghana has won five medals at the Olympic Games since first participating in 1960 Games in Rome, Italy.
The medals are one silver and three bronze medals in boxing and football.
