Nsuopon Fidelity Football Club’s President, Nana Kofi Boateng, has strongly refuted allegations of favoritism from the Regional Football Association (RFA). In an exclusive interview with Kwabena Aboagye on Skyy FM, Mr. Boateng emphasized that the RFA chairman never promised victory but praised his team’s hard-fought journey to the final.
Amid accusations that Nsuopun Fidelity was an establishment team meant to be favored by the WRFA chairman following an alleged payment, Boateng clarified that the club maintained integrity throughout the competition.
“We never promised or paid any money to the RFA, nor did they promise us victory,” he asserted. “Our team played with all their heart to win the final but lost it to the famous Sekondi XI Wise who on the day were more determined and clinical than us.”
The WRFA Chairman Simon Ehuma was emphatic and determined that the final be officiated fairly, and the match between Wise and Fidelity was no exception—the best team won that day.”
The club President further condemned attempts to link Nsuopun Fidelity to political affiliations, stressing the team’s independence and collective management approach.
“It’s a shame to associate Nsuopon Fidelity with any political party. We play and manage the team collectively, and I even have supporters from different political parties,” he stated.
Nsuopon Fidelity’s triumph is now being celebrated as a testament to their dedication and sportsmanship, with Nana Boateng expressing pride in his team’s achievements and commitment to fair play.
