Sensational MidCity FC will open their account in the Ashanti Regional Second Division League on Sunday as they target success at the end of the campaign.
The Lions, will host Pro Players Academy Saturday at the Prempeh College football field in a Zone Two encounter, hoping to begin the season with a win.
The 2024/25 season in the Ashanti region, began last weekend in nine zones, with MidCity FC drawing a bye on the opening day matches.
The Lions, missed out on promotion to the national Division One League last season, after losing the promotional playoff final.
This season, they hope to make amends by going a step higher, and that ambition begins on Sunday afternoon in the Garden City.
The game kicks off at 3:00 PM local time with MidCity FC, strong favourites to collect the three points.
Three other games in the zone, will be played on Sunday with with Excel SC playing Kumasi Academicals at 9:00 AM.
Step FC will face Mahala Academy at 11:00 AM with Dabo Soccer Academy playing Bantama Lions at 1:00 PM prior to the MidCity FC game.
There will be matches in all other zones this weekend as the Matchday Two fixtures are cleared.
