The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA), has reached agreement with Accra-based Game TV to broadcast the regional Second Division League.
The telecast of the matches have already started and, the official groundbreaking broadcasting partnership was signed in Accra on Friday.
This partnership is for an initial two years and, is aimed at enhancing the visibility of grassroots football in Ghana.
Under the terms of the agreement, Game TV will stream between four to six matches a week over the next two years.
At the signing, GARFA Chairman, Samuel Aboabire, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the Association’s longstanding commitment to promoting grassroots football.
“GARFA has been at the forefront of advancing grassroots football in Ghana, and this partnership with Game TV is a significant step forward. It will provide a platform to showcase the talent within our Division Two league, ensuring greater exposure and opportunities for our clubs and players,” he said.
“We are grateful to Game TV for their trust and belief in our vision, and we look forward to the great things we will achieve together,” he added.
Madam Bibi Bright, CEO of Game TV, was positive about this new partnership between the two, stating, “We are proud to be partnering with GARFA and shining a light on the several talents in the Division Two league.”
She added: “These players are the future of Ghanaian football, and through our broadcasts, we aim to bring their stories to a wider audience by offering fans a front-row seat to the action, hoping to inspire the next generation of players and supporters.”
Head of Public Relations and Strategy at the Ghana Football Association, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, said: “We thank Game TV for their investment in supporting Ghana Football through this partnership with GARFA, and look forward to more of such partnerships for all our Regional Football Associations.”
