Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA), Samuel Aboabire said the Tema Metropolitan Football Association (TMFA), is a great example for other districts to emulate.
Mr Aboabire, also known as ‘Kataa’, paid this tribute about the TMFA during their congress to usher in the new season last Saturday.
He was the special quest of honour at the event held at the Apple Hotel, Community Four, Tema, attended by congressmen and other football stakeholders within the metropolitan area.
“As a district football association, you have set a very good example for other districts to emulate over the past three years, and, I commend you for this,” Mr Aboabire said.
” Your district is one of the best administered in the region if not the best, and I look forward to hearing even more joyous news going forward,” he added.
“As the regional body, we have had very little complaints from clubs in your district and, this is great testament that league is run well with officiating fees paid promptly.
Chairman of the TMFA is Daasebre Adu-Asare who confirmed that the district football season will officially start next weekend with the Third Division League.
The juvenile league (colts), will start on December 14 with the first ever girls competition starting a week later.
The 2024/25 campaign is expected to end in June next year.
