Accra Hearts of Oak’s goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has achieved 10 clean sheets in 16 matches he has played for the Phobians in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) this season.
Asare, who transferred from city rivals Accra Great Olympics this season, will strive for another as Hearts of Oak faces Heart of Lions on Friday.
This GPL Matchday 19 match will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 PM local time.
Asare will likely be in goal for Hearts of Oak, who are pursuing their ninth win of the season.
The goalkeeper has been in superb form for the Phobians, who currently stand sixth on the GPL table with 30 points, just four points behind leaders Asante Kotoko heading into this weekend’s matches.
His contributions to the Hearts of Oak agenda this season earned him a spot on the locally based Ghana national team that lost to Nigeria in the qualifiers for the upcoming CHAN tournament later this year.
The Hearts of Oak supporters will hope he maintains his strong performance as they aim to secure the GPL title by the end of the season.
He was in goal when the Phobians lost to Heart of Lions in the first round of the season at Kpando, and Asare will seek to keep the visitors at bay as Hearts of Oak aims for victory this evening
