Ghanaian midfielder Iddriss Mohammed has taken a significant step toward revitalizing his football career by joining Danish club FC Roskilde.
Mohammed’s footballing journey began on a promising note. He was scouted during high school games by Cheetah FC, a club known for nurturing young talents. His impressive performances earned him a call-up to Ghana’s U-17 national team, which later competed in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. His potential caught the attention of scouts, leading to a move to Portuguese club Moreirense, where he started his European adventure.
Unfortunately, injuries disrupted his progress, forcing him to take a break from professional football. Now fully recovered, Mohammed sees FC Roskilde as the ideal club to relaunch his career and prove his worth on the European stage.
His immediate goal is to rediscover his form and establish himself as a key player in the Danish league. In the long term, he aspires to play in the Danish Superliga, where he can compete against top-tier teams and players. Mohammed also dreams of securing a move to a major European club, following in the footsteps of Ghanaian stars like Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus, who have successfully transitioned to elite football leagues.
Mohammed’s contract with FC Roskilde spans two years, with financial incentives structured to support his career growth. He will earn a monthly salary of $270 (€259), alongside an annual performance bonus of $3,240 (€3,112), bringing his total yearly earnings to $6,480 (€6,224).
In addition to his salary, the club has ensured his comfort by providing:
A fully furnished apartment
A car for personal use
One free flight ticket to Ghana per year
This move represents a fresh opportunity for Iddriss Mohammed to revive his career and make an impact in Danish football. FC Roskilde will be hoping that his talent and determination will contribute significantly to their ambitions.
