In a fiercely contested election held on the 30th of August, 2023, Mr. Jonathan Appiah, popularly known as Apitoloo, emerged victorious and was re-elected as the Chairman of the Bibiani Goldstars Supporters Union. This victory ensures that he will lead the group for another two years.
Mr. Appiah faced stiff competition from Mr. Antwi Kwabena Boateng, also known as AKB, in a closely fought race. However, it was Appiah who managed to secure the majority of votes, polling an impressive 48 votes out of the 91 valid votes cast. AKB, though falling short by a narrow margin, put up a commendable fight and garnered five votes.
The Bibiani Goldstars Supporters Union also elected other key positions within the group. Benjamin Turkson was chosen as the new Vice Chairman, bringing valuable input and support to Chairman Appiah’s team. Miss Edith Antwiwaah earned the position of Women’s Organizer, reflecting the union’s commitment to inclusivity and gender equality. Additionally, Castro Boateng was elected as the General Secretary, responsible for ensuring smooth functioning and coordination within the group.
Furthermore, the Bibiani Goldstars Supporters Union selected individuals for various vital roles. Mr. Emmanuel Ackah will take charge of public relations, utilizing his skills to effectively communicate with both the members of the group and the wider community. Solomon Nyame has been entrusted with the responsibilities of Treasure, managing the financial affairs of the union. Lastly, Hudu Zackari will serve as the Organizer, taking charge of organizing events, rallies, and other activities that contribute to the successful functioning of the Bibiani Goldstars Supporters Union.
