Striker Isaah Akuka was on target as Accra Hearts of Oak continued with their pre-season preparations with a win over Susubribi SC.
He scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute as the Phobians posted a 1-0 win at the All Nations University soccer pitch at Koforidua on Wednesday.
This was Hearts’ first game since they took their preparations for next season to the Eastern region after over a months training in Accra.
Susubribi SC, proved to be stubborn opposition on the day, with the Division One League side nearly becoming the first club to deny Hearts of a win this pre-season.
Coach Martin Koopman and his charges, are unbeaten in pre-season so far, and have been scoring goals for fun under the Dutchman.
Hearts of Oak will continue to prepare for the start of the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League in Koforidua where they will depart for their first game of the campaign at Tamale.
The Phobians will open the league campaign against RTU with the game scheduled to be played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Friday, September 15.
This 6:00 PM kick-off time, will officially open the football season in Ghana.
