In a resounding victory, Kurt Okraku has secured his position as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The Liverpool-trained football administrator was re-elected to his post by acclamation during the association’s elective congress held in Tamale on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Kurt Okraku faced no opposition as his main rival, George Afriyie, was disqualified from the race for failing to obtain the required number of signatures to support his candidacy.
Out of the 120 eligible voters, Kurt Okraku received overwhelming support, garnering 117 votes in his favor, with only two delegates voting against his endorsement.
With this decisive victory, Kurt Okraku is set to continue his mandate as the President of the GFA for another four years. His re-election signifies a vote of confidence from the football community in Ghana, as he looks forward to leading the association and furthering the development of football in the country.
