In a notable event that marked a significant expansion of the Right to Dream Academy franchise, former Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien was among the high-profile personalities in attendance at the unveiling of the Right to Dream Academy in Egypt. This Akosomba-based Academy has now extended its reach to North Africa following the acquisition of a majority stake by Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour.
The event also drew the presence of renowned figures in football, including former Ghanaian coach Otto Addo, ex-Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng, and English Premier League legends Titus Bramble and Ryan Betrand. Together, they gathered to celebrate the launch of the Right to Dream Academy Egypt, which stands as the third project under the umbrella of the Right to Dream Academy group, with the other two academies situated in Ghana and Denmark.
The Right to Dream Academy group’s endeavors don’t stop there; they’ve even secured a Major League Soccer expansion status, with plans to introduce a club in San Diego.
Michael Essien, who currently serves as an assistant manager at Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, is intricately linked to the Right to Dream Academy project in Denmark, adding his vast experience and expertise to the venture. Derek Boateng, on the other hand, works as a scout for the academy located in Ghana, contributing to the identification and nurturing of young talents.
Otto Addo, a former Ghanaian footballer who went through the development process within the Right to Dream Academy, further reinforces the academy’s philosophy as he hones his skills as a manager. The unveiling of the Right to Dream Academy in Egypt represents a milestone in the organization’s mission to foster young talent and football development across the globe.
