The National Sports Authority (NSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with their counterparts National Sports Council from Barbados.
The initiative for this sporting agreement was started last year during Ghana’s Independence Day celebration to deepen operational collaboration between Ghana and the Caribbean country.
The 2-year renewable agreement signed by Director General of the NSA, Prof. Peter Twumasi on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports will strengthen the sporting relationship between Ghana and Barbados.
With Ghana having over 52 formalized federations under the National Sports Authority, the agreement is expected to focus on the bilateral development of 14 sporting disciplines including boxing, tennis, swimming, netball, surfing, horseracing, basketball among others.
At a brief ceremony held at the office of the Director General of NSA, the Head of Mission of Barbados to Ghana, Madam Juliette Babb-Riley expressed the optimism and desire to see through the period of the relationship with so much focus on reviving horse racing in Ghana towards mutual benefits.
