Asante Kotoko returns to action on Friday as they host Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League which continues with the Matchday 19 fixtures this weekend.
The game will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi where Kotoko will look to bounce back to winning ways after losing their last league encounter away to Heart of Lions at Kpando last Saturday.
The Porcupines, are fourth on the table with 29 points from the 18 matches they have played this season, and they could finish the weekend in second position if they win this fixture and other results go their way.
Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum and his charges, are eager to win this season’s competition, and they will be massive favourites to collect the three points in this fixture.
In the first leg encounter played at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani, Gold Stars run away 2-1 winners, and they will look to complete the double over the record Ghana champions.
However, the Miners have yet to record a win over Asante Kotoko in Kumasi since they joined the top-flight two seasons ago, and it will be a difficult assignment in their quest to break this jinx.
Gold Stars are winless in the eight matches they have played on the road this campaign, losing five and drawing the other three.
They have scored just one goal in those matches, a record that does not inspire hope as they visit the Baba Yara Stadium tomorrow evening.
Asante Kotoko will hope to count on their home advantage to get the result and bring their chase for the title back on track.
