Aduana Stars breathed new life into their Ghana Premier League title pursuit by triumphing over bottom-placed Real Tamale United on Sunday afternoon.
In a resolute display at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro, the Ogya Boys bounced back from consecutive defeats, clinching a convincing 3-1 win against the Northerners.
Sam Adams emerged as the hero of the day, securing a hat-trick to propel Aduana to victory. His early strike in the 5th minute set the tone, followed by another goal in the 27th minute, converting from the penalty spot.
Although Real Tamale United managed to pull one back just before halftime through Owusu Afriyie’s effort, Adams’ clinical performance ensured Aduana’s dominance.
The icing on the cake came two minutes before full-time as Adams calmly slotted home his second penalty kick of the match, completing his hat-trick and sealing the victory for Yaw Acheampong’s side.
With this crucial win, Aduana Stars maintain their grip on the third position in the league standings. Despite trailing leaders FC Samartex by six points, the victory reignites Aduana’s aspirations for the league title as they continue to strive for success in the competition.
