Angry fans of Asante Kotoko FC unleashed their frustration on Tuesday as they stormed the club’s training grounds, demanding an end to the coaching regime led by Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Tension gripped the atmosphere at the training ground in Adako Jachie as impassioned supporters blocked Dr. Ogum and his players from conducting their training session.
The turmoil comes amidst Asante Kotoko’s dismal performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season, with the team enduring seven defeats in their last nine games. The Porcupine Warriors have managed to secure just a single point from their last seven matches, leaving them perilously close to the relegation zone.
Sitting in 11th place, their lowest position ever in the Ghanaian top-flight, fans are clamoring for a change in leadership, directing their ire towards the head coach and his staff due to the string of poor performances.
Efforts by the head of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Nana Appiah Apinkra, to pacify the agitated fans proved futile as they remained resolute in their demand for a coaching staff overhaul.
Consequently, the players were unable to proceed with their training regimen, leaving the club in a state of uncertainty and disarray
As the situation continues to unfold, Asante Kotoko FC is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, leaving fans and stakeholders anxiously awaiting further developments in this unfolding crisis.
