President of Tema Focus FC Fiifi McGibbswills has been banned from all football related activities for five years by the Disciplinary Committee of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association.
Also, a player of the club, Owusu Darlington, has been suspended for two years by the Committee.
This follows their physical attack and assault on the center referee during their Division Three Middle League game with True Life FA in the ongoing competition at the Tema Sports Stadium.
After its sitting, the Disciplinary Committee, found Mr McGibbswills guilty of all five counts of misconduct leveled against him contrary to Article 34 (1a and 1b), (2) and (4).
Mr McGibbswills, rendered an apology to the Disciplinary Committee for the incident that happened, but pleaded not guilty of the charges despite admitting to rushing on the field of play to attack the referee.
He also admitted that player Owusu Darlington, came from behind to assault the referee.
Pursuant to 37 (1a & b) and (7) Mr McGibbswills has been fined GH¢300.00 per EACH Count, totaling GH¢1,500.00.
He was also fined an additional GH¢2,000.00, GH¢1,000.00 of which is to be paid to the Center Referee as compensation and GH¢1,000.00 for his hospital bills.
In pursuant to Article 37 (1a and 1b), the Disciplinary Committee has suspended Mr McGibbswills from all football related activities for five years, and have suspended him from being an Executive Member of the Tema District Football Association.
The Disciplinary Committee, has in pursuant to Article 37 (1a), also suspends player Owusu Darlington for two years.
All fines are payable to the DFA within two days and in respect of Article 37 8 (c); A Club that fails to pay its fines, costs and debts on or before the stipulated due date shall automatically, forfeit its subsequent matches until such time that the fines and/or costs are fully paid.
The respondents are also warned against any misconduct behavior subsequently.
