The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has dismissed King Faisal Football Club’s protest against Basake Holy Stars Football Club regarding the fielding of an unqualified player in their week 29 game.
The committee stated that Daniel Adjei, transferred to Basake Holy Stars FC by FC Barcelona Tarkwa, was registered correctly using the details provided by FC Barcelona Tarkwa. Therefore, Basake Holy Stars did not falsify the details of Daniel Adjei, who is also known as Daniel Kankam.
As a result of the protest, King Faisal FC has been fined Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (5,000 GHC).
Furthermore, the player Daniel Adjei/Kankam and his former club, FC Barcelona Tarkwa, will face charges from the GFA. Additionally, Daniel Adjei’s player license has been immediately revoked by the GFA.
In light of the committee’s decision, Basake Holy Stars FC has been confirmed as the champions of the Access Bank Division One League Zone Two.
