The Gbese Mantse Nii Ayi Bonte II has called for peace and unity in the Ga State and the nation at large ahead of the 2024 General Elections in Ghana.
Ahead of those elections, the Adonten of the Ga State, is putting together a Charity Cup game between Ghana Premier League sides Accra Hearts of Oak and Kpando Heart of Lions.
The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 11, 2024 with a giant trophy at stake for the victor.
Nii Ayi Bonte II, charged both sides to rise to the challenge in Sunday’s game, one he promised to make an annual affair going forward.
“As our nation goes into the General Elections in December, I will urgent all to promote peace and unity in the country to uphold our democracy”, Nii Ayibonte II said at press briefing in Accra on Wednesday.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak CEO, wished both sides the best of luck on Sunday, however praying that the Phobians claim the win.
Hearts of Oak coach Abubakar Quatara and his counterpart from Lions Bashir Hayford, both expressed their readiness for the game and promised to give it their all on Sunday hoping for the win.
