Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah leads the goal king race after eight matches in the Ghana Premier League as the competition heats up.
Amoah, who joined the Porcupines from relegated Accra Great Olympics at the beginning of the season, has netted five times in the ongoing campaign.
And, according to the striker, his aim is to finish the campaign as top scorer as he builds on his prowess.
Amoah, scored his fifth goal of the season on Wednesday when Asante Kotoko lost their unbeaten start to the campaign in an outstanding fixture against Legon Cities in Accra.
His effort, was not enough as the Porcupines lost 2-1 to the Royals at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.
It was Legon Cities first win of the campaign after losing five of their opening seven matches.
Asante Kotoko will return to action on Sunday in a home fixture against Heart of Lions at the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi.
And, Amoah will look to build on his scoring tally as he continues with his effort towards wining the top scorer award.
Following Amoah on the scorer’s chat is Faisal Charwetey of Nations FC and Emmanuel Marfo of Aduana FC who both have four goals after eight matches.
Samuel Atta Kumi of Bibiani Gold Stars has three goals in what is turning into a keenly contested race.
All four players, will look to add to their tally to his weekend when the competition continues with the Matchday Nine fixtures.
