Professional golfers from nine African countries are expected to participate in the 2024 Genser PGA Championship slated for between November 27 – 30.
The Championship is has been scheduled for the Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono near Tema.
The golfers are expecting to come from Zimbabwe, Uganda, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana among others in what is expected to be a thrilling and demanding competition.
This prestigious golf competition will be the last major event under the PGA with a new sponsor on board.
Genser Energy, is a leading energy solutions provider that specializes in providing sustainable distributed generation energy, and they will sponsor the four-day event .
The 11th edition of this golf championship will tee off on November 27 and, end on November 30, 2024 with a total prize money of GH¢411,000 at stake.
It will be played in three categories, regular pros, seniors and the ladies division in accordance with the rules of golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St Andrews, the United States Golf Association and the local rules of Celebrity Golf Club.
A stroke play over 72 holes will be format in which the regulars will be on the course for four days whiles the seniors and ladies will play for three days.
