Ace journalist Jonas Mac-Tetteh has written a deep-hearted tribute to late footballer Anas Seidu following the passing of the former Ghana international and Accra Hearts of Oak player over the weekend.
He writes;
Anas Seidu was a former Accra Hearts of Oak and Ghana forward and was credited with having played a key role in making Hearts the dominant force in Ghana football in the 1970s.
Anas built his reputation out of scoring with thunderbolts and often scored them from set-pieces hence the nickname “THUNDER”.
He caused a nightmare to many goalkeepers including Asante Kotoko’s Ayooma who had his hand broken in his attempt to save Anas’ free kick in a game between the two giants of Ghana football.
Anas, was regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation.
He ended his career with a list of honours including, seven Ghana League titles, four FA Cup wins, two Super Cup wins, two SWAG Cup victories, two Guinness Gala trophies and the 1978 AFCON title with the Black Stars.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
