Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko has acquired the services of Michael Dwamena, totalsportsghana.com can reveal.
The player has spent three seasons at West African Football Academy (WAFA), and has registered himself as an integral member of the side since joining in 2020.
The Porcupines are set to sign Dwamena on a three-year contract subject to medicals. The dazzling midfielder is set to fill the void left by former skipper Richard Boadu ‘Agadas’ who has been transferred to Libyan club Al Ahly SC.
Dwamena, who captained the Sogakope-based club, appreciates the idea of reuniting with former coach Prosper Nettey Ogum at Kotoko.
The midfielder was scouted by Prosper Nettey Ogum during the university games which Dwamena led the University of Cape Coast (UCC), soccer team to victory over University of Ghana, in 2019.
Asante Kotoko placed fourth in the 2022/24 Betpawa Premier league and are looking to reinforce their team after the departures of key players.
The Wafa skipper holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Environmental Science from the UCC.
