Captain Zakaria Fuseini said his Berekum Chelsea side will look to improve on their performance of last season as the new campaign approaches.
The Bibires, have taken their pre-season preparations to Kumasi ahead of the start of the 2023-24 Ghana football season.
Fuseini said, the pre-season preparations have gone well according to plan, and they are aiming to surpass the eighth place finish in the betPawa Premier League last season.
“We were disappointed with our position in the league last season, and we want to make amends in the coming campaign,” Fuseini told the local media.
The club have lost some of their trust arsenal of last season, but Fuseini said they will rise to the challenge next season.
“Yes, some players have moved to to new challenges, and I am happy for them, but we will pick up the pieces going forward,” he said.
He added: “The pre-season has gone well so far and we hope to carry this into the new season and make ourselves and our fans proud.”
Berekum Chelsea will open their account in the betPawa Premier League with a home game against Bibiani Gold Stars in September.
