Record Ghana champions Asante Kotoko will play their first pre-season game on Sunday as they continue with their preparations for next season.
The Porcupines, have announced two games coming up on Sunday as Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum takes a close look at his side in real game situations since they started their pre-season training.
The first of those friendlies, will kick-off at 8:00 AM local time with Kotoko, up against Ashanti regional Second Division side Kharis Sports Academy.
The Porcupines, will then take on former Elite Division campaigners Kumasi Cornerstones two hours later as they go into action for the first time this pre-season.
Both games, will be played at the Dr K. K. Sarpong Stadium at Beposo, venue of their pre-season preparations.
Coach Ogum and his charges, have been in pre-season mood for close to three weeks now, as they seek to get it right before the start of the new season.
He will use these friendlies to get first hand information on how far his charges have come so far with the start of the 2023/24 football season coming up next month.
Asante Kotoko will aim to improve on their performance of last season which saw them surrender the league title they won the previous campaign to Medeama SC.
The Garden City club, finished fourth last season, and they will seek to make amends when the new season kicks off.
Heart of Lions, will be Kotoko’s first opponents when the betPawa Premier League starts next month, with the Porcupines, hosting this game at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.
