Ghana champions Medeama SC will face FA Cup winners Dreams FC in a champion of champions clash on Sunday.
The game will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Ghana’s western coast with kick-off time set for 6:00 PM local time.
This, is the traditional curtain raiser to the football season in Ghana with the betPawa Premier League planned to kickoff later in September.
The game will also be a good exercise for both sides as they return to continental action next weekend.
Medeama SC will play Guinea’s Horoya Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League with the winner over two legs, advancing to the group phase of the campaign.
Dreams FC, will come up against FC Kallon of Sierra Leone in the CAF Confederation Cup also over two legs for a place in the group stage.
Last season, Medeama SC won their first ever Ghanaian top-flight title after coming from behind to pip Aduana FC to the diadem.
Dreams FC, beat King Faisal FC in the grand finale of the MTN FA Cup competition last season, for their maiden triumph in this event.
