The 2023/24 football season in Ghana is scheduled to start on Friday all things being equal.

There will be some notable absentees who stared in both competitions last season, having departed the country to seek greener pastures elsewhere.
Notable among these absentees are the following players who will or are playing their trade outside Ghana this season.
Medeama SC’s Vincent Atinga, has just left the club following the expiration of his contract, and is rumoured to be heading to Kuwait.
Caleb Amankwa, has left Accra Hearts of Oak, and now plays in Ethiopia after his contract with the Phobians expired.
Kwesi Donsu, has been loaned to a club in Malta by champions Medeama SC until the end of the season.
Accra Hearts of Oak’s Konadu- Yiadom, has been loaned by the Phobians to a Ukrainian side on a season-long loan.
Michel Otou, has joined Ethiopian side, Hawassa City Sport Club from Legon Cities on a permanent deal.
Sampson Eduku was top scorer at relegated Tamale City FC, with the striker now in Iraq playing in the topflight league.
Hafiz konkoni has joined Tanzanian side Young Africans from Bechem United with Dankwa Stephen Badu having left RTU to ply his trade outside Ghana.
Kwame Adom Frimpong is in Ethiopia, having ended his stay with Aduana FC.
Richard Boadu, captained Asante Kotoko last season, with the midfielder now in Libya with giants Al Ahly Tripoli.
