Five matches will be played in the betPawa Premier League on Sunday as the 2023/24 season continues with the opening round fixtures.
Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, FC Samartex, Nsoatreman FC and Legon Cities will all be at home on Matchday One.
Playing away from home will be Karela United, Aduana FC, Heart of Lions, Bibiani Gold Stars and Bechem United who will all look to get the campaign running with good results.
Asante Kotoko v Heart of Lions
Asante Kotoko will host Kpando Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi in a game they are the odds on favourites to win.
The Porcupines, will look to make the most of the he home conditions at the Baba Yara Stadium as they welcome a Lions side that won promotion back to the Elite Division last season.
Games between the two sides in the past, were keenly contested, and tomorrow’s meeting is expected to follow a similar pattern with Heart of Lions determined to make things difficult for the hosts.
Berekum Chelsea v Gold Stars
The Bibires won the Nsenkyire Cup pre-season tournament held at Samreboi, and they will look to build on this as they host Bibiani Gold Stars at the Golden City Park, Berekum.
Gold Stars, made some high profile additions to their squad, and Coach Michael Osei will hope they come to the party in a contest that favours Berekum Chelsea.
FC Samartex v Aduana FC
FC Samartex will look to make good use of the home conditions as they welcome Aduana FC to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samreboi.
The Timber Giants have been very impressive at home since they joined the Ghanaian top-flight last season, and Aduana FC will have to bring their ‘A-Game’ to the table if they hope to get anything from this fixture.
Bechem United will make the short trip to Nsoatre to face the might of local side Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Kromansah Park for their first game of the season.
Nsoatreman FC have been a handful for most visiting teams since they joined the Elite Division, and it will take a performance of great magnitude from United to get their desired result.
Legon Cities v Karela United
Karela United play away to Legon Cities at the El-Wak Military Stadium in Accra, and they will fancy their chances of getting the result against a Cities side that has issues in their camp.
