Newly promoted Greater Accra Second Division side Asanska Football Club have targeted making an immediate impact in the regional league.
Asanska FC, gained qualification to the regional Second Division League after winning the 2022/23 Ga East District Football Association Third Division Middle League.
They were crowned as champions after beating Adenta Youth FC 5-1 in the grand finale at Adjiringanor AstroTurf on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the club, Samuel Kwaku Owusu Amoah told kaysports.com that he is elated with the performance of his charges, insisting that this is a prelude of what is to come.
“The Middle League competition was a very tough one, but we managed to battle it out successfully to gain the sole ticket to Division Two,” Mr Amoah said.
“We want to make an immediate impact in the league next season, and I am confident that the boys will rise to the occasion when the season begins,” he added.
Asanska FC, he said, targets the horning and development of young players, and that they will continue to seek for talents whilst pursuing their dream of qualifying to the National Division One League.
“Additionally, we will support and nurture the talents of the players, empowering them to build successful and positive football careers,” he said.
Asanska FC was founded to serve as a home for identifying and nurturing footballers who will be highly fit and ready for the global market.
The club is based at Oyibi, and has its own training and playing facilities, making them one of the best run lower tier sides in Ghana.
The founder and owner of Asanska FC is Mr Kwabena Asante-Asare, whose passion for football and the eagerness to help support, nurture and develop talents from the grassroots, led him to conceive the idea of setting up this football club among the many businesses he owns.
His vision, is to see Asanska FC become among others, the best run football club in Ghana, offering hope, inspiration and support to young budding talents who aspire to become professional footballers in future.
The Greater Accra Regional Second Division League will start later this year after the holding of a successful congress last week.
