The recent FA cup and Malta Guinness Ghana women’s premier league winners, Ampem Darkoa has been placed in a relatively fair group for the CAF women’s champions league.
At a draw which was held today at CAF headquarters saw the double winners were placed in group B with defending champions ASFAR Club of Morocco, fellow debutants Huracanes Fútbol club of Equatorial Guinea and Malian side AS Mande. Ampem Darkoa sealed their qualification to the main tournament after defeating Nigerian counterparts Delta Queens in the WAFU Zone B tournament. The Techiman-based club will seek to better the feat reached by Hasaacas’ ladies in the maiden edition held in 2021 which saw them (Hasaacas ladies) lose to Mamelodi sundowns in Cairo, Egypt. Elsewhere in group A have the maiden tournament winners Mamelodi Sundowns paired with Moroccan Giants, SC Casablanca, Ivorian side Atletico FC and Tanzanian debutants JKT Queens.
The 3rd edition of the annual club competition slated to commence on 5th- 19th November 2023 in Ivory Coast will see these 8 clubs battle for supremacy and bragging rights on the African stage.
