Despite earlier reports suggesting that Medeama Sporting Club’s international friendly against DC United at Audi Field in Washington was on the brink of cancellation, the Ghana Premier League Champions’ delegation took off from Kotoka International Airport to the United States on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. They embarked on their journey via Ethiopian Airlines, departing at 8:14 pm Ghana time, with a route that would take them through Addis Ababa, Lome, and Benin before reaching their final destination in the USA.
This 21-member contingent includes 14 players, 3 members of the technical team (Head Coach Evans Adotey, Assistant Welfare Officer John Cudjoe, and Goalkeepers Coach Ben Owu), as well as Team Doctor Tuffour Kwarteng, Club President Moses Armah, Communications Director Patrick Akoto, and Board Member Hon. John Justice Abban (Hon. DJ). After arriving in Addis Ababa at 4:15 am Ethiopian time (1:55 am Ghana time), they will continue their journey through Lome, Benin, and finally arrive in the USA.
Medeama SC is scheduled to play against DC United at Audi Field in Washington DC on Saturday, with the kick-off time set for 21:00 GMT (9 pm Ghana Time).

Goalkeepers: Felix Kyei and Appiah Kubi
Defenders: Baba Musa Abdulai, Kofi Asmah, Emmanuel Cudjoe, Nurudeen Abdulai, and Mamudu Kamaradini
Midfielders: Jean Vital, Azaria Fordjour, Osah Tetteh, and Theophilus Anobah
Attackers: Jonathan Sowah, Nana Kofi Babil, and Daniel Lomotey
After the match, the team is expected to return to Ghana to continue their domestic competitions and prepare for the CAF Champions League group stage adventure.
