The Accra High Court has struck out King Faisal Football Club’s application for an injunction against the roadmap for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) elections in 2023. The club’s counsel withdrew the application, leading to its dismissal by the judge.
The GFA released a statement confirming the court’s decision. The statement also mentioned that King Faisal FC’s legal representatives voluntarily withdrew the application. As a result, the judge ruled to strike out the injunction application as withdrawn.
This development comes as the GFA prepares for the upcoming elections, following the previous suspension of football activities in Ghana due to corruption allegations. The roadmap for the elections is crucial to ensuring a fair and transparent process.
The dismissal of King Faisal’s injunction application clears the way for the GFA to proceed with their planned elections. The association can now focus on implementing their roadmap and ensuring a smooth transition of power within the organization.
Both the GFA and King Faisal FC are expected to continue their preparations for the elections, with the aim of upholding the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in Ghanaian football.
