Ghana champions Medeama SC flew to Egypt on Wednesday ahead of their CAF Champions League Group D opener against record winners of the competition Al Ahly.
The game will be played on Saturday at the Al Salam Stadium, Cairo, where the Egyptian authorities have announced that 15,000 fans would be allowed into the stadium to watch this fixture.
The Yellow and Mauves, were in high spirits as they departed the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday morning.
They will look to open their account in the group phase of the campaign with a good result before they return to Ghana to play their next two matches in the competition at home.
Coach Augustine Adotey and his charges, reached this stage of the campaign after beating off competition from clubs from Nigeria (Remo Stars) and Guinea (Horoya AC).
Other teams in this group are CR Belouizdad of Algeria and Tanzania’s Young Africans in what looks a touch pool on paper.
They will open the group phase of the campaign on Friday at the Stade du 5 -Juillet-1962 in Algiers.
