Former Ghana international Stephen Frimpong Manso takes charge of Bibiani Gold Stars for the first time on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
Coach Manso, was recently appointed to the post, and his maiden game will be against leaders FC Samartex 1996 at the Dun’s Park, Bibiani as the season continues with the Matchday 15 fixtures.
The former Asante Kotoko defender, will hope to guide the Timber Giants to a win in this fixture against the league leaders on home soil.
Gold Stars, have not won in their last seven league games, a situation that has seen them drop to the relegation zone after a good start to the season.
Their last victory, was against Asante Kotoko at home, a situation that prompted chieftains at the club to part ways with coach Michael Osei.
The former Ghana international was replaced by Frimpong Manso, his former playmate at Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars.
A win for Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park on Sunday, could see them jump out of the relegation zone if results elsewhere this weekend, favours them.
And, Coach Manso, will hope to start his new role with a win in front of their home fans after doing a pretty good job at Bofoakwa Tano early in the season before falling out with the club.
