The Million Balls Africa Project (MBAP), has tasked pupils of Akim Achiase in the Eastern region to aspire to reach the levels of Black Stars player Inaki Williams.
Williams’ achievements, in education and football, should be an inspiration for the pupils to perform to even greater heights according to Executive Director of MBAP, Raphael Agbaneza.
Mr Agbaneza, led a four-member team of MBAP that made a presentation of 11 footballs to the the San Mames Hotel, the Education Office, and two schools at Akim Achiase, home town of Inaki Williams on Tuesday.
A FIFA approved standard football was presented to the San Mames Hotel, built by Inaki Williams in recognition of his contributions to the Black Stars since he switched allegiance from Spain to Ghana.
Williams, scored his first Black Stars goal in November last year when Ghana defeated Madagascar 1-0 in their first game of the qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Receiving the football from the MBAP team, Emmanuel Kwakye who stood in for the CEO of San Mames Hotel, thanked the team for this recognition and promised to relay the information to Inaki Williams and his team.
Later, four footballs were handed over to the Education office at Akim Achiase, with the Islamic Basic School and the Presbyterian Basic School, receiving three footballs each.
The Akim Achiase Director of education Samuel Wadir, thanked the MBAP for the kind gesture, called for more and promised that they would be put to good use to develop talents in the district.
