Accra Lions’ electrifying winger, Evans Botchway, has made a significant leap in his career by joining Swedish topflight side IF Brommapojkarna on a permanent deal. The 18-year-old’s transfer comes on the back of his stellar performances for the Ghana Premier League side, where he caught the attention of scouts with his blistering pace and exceptional dribbling skills.
Botchway’s journey with Lions began in 2023 when he made his debut for the first team, quickly establishing himself as a key player with 19 appearances and two goals to his name in the top tier of Ghanaian football. His explosive pace and ability to dismantle opposition defenses made him one of the most feared wingers in the league, earning him widespread acclaim among fans and pundits alike.
Philip Berglund, IF Brommapojkarna’s Sports Manager, expressed excitement about Botchway’s arrival, highlighting his exceptional speed and offensive qualities that will undoubtedly bolster the team’s attacking prowess. Berglund emphasized that Botchway will have the opportunity to acclimate to their environment and further develop his skills for long-term success.
Despite his youth, Botchway has already made a mark on the international stage, representing Ghana’s U20 team and making three appearances, where he showcased his goal-scoring prowess with two goals for the Black Satellites. However, his participation in the African Games was cut short due to his move to the European club.
In the current season, Botchway made three appearances for Accra Lions before embarking on his journey to Europe to continue his football career. His departure marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the talented winger as he looks to make an impact on the Swedish football scene with IF Brommapojkarna. Football enthusiasts eagerly await to see Botchway’s continued rise and success in his budding career on the international stage.
