During a press briefing today, Ghana coach Otto Addo confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will captain the Black Stars for their upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers doubleheader against Sudan. Kudus, who plays for West Ham United, has been entrusted with this responsibility due to the unavailability of regular captains Andre Ayew and Thomas Partey.
Partey had to withdraw due to medical issues, while Ayew was left out of the squad.
This will be Kudus’ first time leading the national team, following his impressive performances since his debut in 2019. Kudus has scored 11 goals in 36 appearances for Ghana, and his leadership in these crucial matches is expected to be key as Ghana seeks to secure important wins to improve their standing in the qualifiers.
